Countdown To Event
ABOUT THE CONGRESS
The National Heart Association of Malaysia (NHAM) Annual Scientific Congress is held annually to provide a platform for professionals and researchers to present their most innovative methods and latest research findings in the area of cardiovascular health.
NHAM is thrilled to welcome you back to Kuala Lumpur in 2024 for another exciting cardiovascular congress with over 160 local and international academics attending. The NHAM Congress 2024 will cover all cardiovascular health-related topics, provide a broad view of the industry, and bring together thousands of cardiology professionals from around the world with the shared objective of reducing cardiovascular diseases globally.
Lined up is an exceptional two-and-a-half-day programme to discuss the latest advancements in cardiac-related practices, technology, research, and case sharing with colleagues and friends. The programme will be comprehensive, inspiring, and educational, with extensive content covering clinical practices as well as all other facets of cardiovascular disease, from prevention to treatment.
We are determined to make this year’s congress meeting in person in Kuala Lumpur even more memorable than ever before. You can anticipate engaging presentations by professionals as well as networking sessions where the most recent advancements in cardiovascular practices are discussed.
We are once again excited to welcome participants to attend our congress in person.
Here are some of the highlights for the NHAM Congress 2024:
|
Dr Alan FONG President, 20th NHAM Council | National Heart Association of Malaysia’s (NHAM) Congress 2024 is home to education and research for Malaysia, to promote quality cardiovascular care, thereby reducing the burden of cardiovascular disease (CVD). In the last decade, this Congress has gone from strength to strength – bringing reputable local and international Faculty, sharing the latest in cardiovascular science, with a growing number of registered delegates from a multidisciplinary background. NHAM, the umbrella organisation that is also home to the Cardiology community in Malaysia, and its 7 sub-societies, welcomes all of you to our flagship event. I thank NHAM Congress 2024’s Organising Chairperson, Dr Cham Yee Ling; Scientific Chairperson, Dr Akmal Hakim Arshad; and their organising committee for their efforts to bring what will be yet another spectacular event in Kuala Lumpur in May, 2024 of you. The most significant hallmark of recent NHAM Congresses is the diversity in cardiology. The interaction between the different aspects of cardiology, such as clinical cardiology, imaging, electrophysiology, pharmacology, percutaneous intervention, will be evident during this Congress, as will be interaction between exponents of cardiovascular medicine with other areas of medicine, for example diabetology, respiratory medicine, and others. As blood vessels are found in every organ of the human body, cardiovascular medicine touches all aspects of clinical care. This Diversity, both amongst Faculty and delegates, is manifest at every NHAM Congress, as especially at Congress 2024. While we celebrate this scientific Diversity, we also encourage active interaction between all who attend. Successive NHAM Congress brings together all stakeholders in who are aligned with our vision. Your discussions, within and around the Congress, will undoubtedly provide a more fulfilling experience – not only generating new ideas and initiatives, but also rekindling friendships and professional relationships. We need everyone together, in an inclusive, aligned effort, to tackle the burden of cardiovascular disease in Malaysia. NHAM continues to advocate evidence-based therapies and utilise modern tools related to digital health to improve access to better diagnostics and treatments to our population. Building on the data and experience from our Registries, strengthened by publications of National Clinical Practice Guidelines, and encouraging local research, we firmly believe that NHAM Congress 2024 will provide the platform for local healthcare professionals to showcase the best of cardiovascular science and clinical care. NHAM Congress 2024 promises to be an unmissable event – rich in science, deep in data, and a delicious, a multi-faceted experience to all who attend. On behalf of the 20th Council of NHAM, I look forward to meeting all of you in Kuala Lumpur! |
Dr CHAM Yee Ling Organising Chairperson NHAM Congress 2024 | Dear friends and colleagues, As I pen this welcome message, it has been 4 months since we wrapped up the biggest show in Malaysian cardiology - and some say South-East Asia, but that is discourse for another day - the resounding success that is NHAM Congress 2023. However, work for the next meeting had already begun behind the scenes before the last meeting was through, because we are committed to making this your event of the year! NHAM Congress 2024 will be held from 3rd – 5th May 2024 in Kuala Lumpur Convention Center. Popular elements from previous meetings will continue to make an appearance, among these the early morning grand round sessions in arrhythmia and heart failure, imaging quiz, training village and the Premier Cup competition. As in past years, the scientific program will strive to be inclusive with content appealing to primary care practitioners, medical officers, physicians and cardiology fellows-in-training as well as seasoned cardiologists alike. We warmly encourage you to submit your cardiovascular research to be showcased during the meeting. It is heartening to see an increasing number of quality abstracts with each passing edition of NHAM Congress, so please keep them coming! Have a go at the prestigious Young Investigator Award and the Heart Failure Research Award for a chance to walk away with glory and lucrative prizes including a trip to the European Society of Cardiology Congress. For the first time ever at the NHAM Congress 2024, there would be moderated case presentations because we know some of your clinical cases are far too good to be confined to a poster. Finally, on behalf of the organizing committee, it is my utmost pleasure to welcome you to the NHAM Congress 2024. See you there! |
Dr Akmal Hakim ARSHAD Scientific Chairman NHAM Congress 2024 | On behalf of the organizing committee, I would like to welcome and invite you once again to the coming NHAM Congress that will take place on the 3rd to 5th of May 2024. The highlight of this Congress revolves around heart protection along the CV continuum and heart failure. The topics covered are relevant across cardiovascular medicine and include the latest scientific findings, published guidelines, expert speakers’ lectures and practice changing education. We are proud to be the main yearly platform for the gathering of primary care physicians, clinicians, researchers, cardiologists, specialist physicians, allied health professionals and fellows in training from various institutions in the region. In this edition of NHAM Congress, we promise to provide greater interactive sessions and valuable in-depth clinical sessions. This year, the NHAM Congress will also be concurrently hosting the Asia Pacific Society ACHD & ASEAN ACHD Scientific meeting. All these efforts share one unifying goal, which is to benefit our patients to have the best clinical outcome. We also acknowledge the need for the young community, across all career stages, to learn, network, have opportunities to engage and interact with peers during this congress. For this, we have crafted several activities which include masterclass workshops, hands on training sessions, moderated poster sessions, clinical case corner and a dedicated track for career development and guidance. This is on top of the yearly tradition of the heavily contested YIA award, Heart Failure Research award and the NHAM Premier Cup. Take note of the deadlines for abstract submissions. The success of this congress is not possible without your participation and contribution. Most importantly, let us make this event a memorable one that each of us will carry on as a positive energy and passion, towards achieving excellence in our everyday clinical practice and lifelong learning journey. |
